Lucija & Toni – A Windswept Couples Photoshoot at Queen’s Beach, Nin
Some locations are beautiful because of their scenery. Others become memorable because of the conditions you experience while photographing them.
Queen’s Beach (Kraljičina plaža), located in Nin near Zadar, is one of those places where the landscape, light and weather can completely transform a photoshoot.
For Lucija and Toni’s couples session, we arrived to find the famous Croatian bura wind sweeping across the beach. Instead of fighting against it, we embraced it.
A Couples Photoshoot at Queen’s Beach
With its long stretch of sand, shallow water and open views towards the Velebit mountains, Queen’s Beach offers a landscape quite different from the rocky coastline usually associated with Croatia.
There is a wonderful sense of space here. The horizon feels endless, and the simplicity of the surroundings allows the connection between two people to become the centre of the photographs.
Lucija and Toni were completely relaxed in front of the camera. We walked along the beach, letting the moments develop naturally rather than trying to create perfectly arranged poses.
When the Bura Becomes Part of the Story
The bura is a strong wind that can change the atmosphere of the Dalmatian coast in an instant.
On this particular day, it brought movement to the photographs — windblown hair, shifting clothes and spontaneous reactions that made the session feel alive.
I have always believed that photography doesn’t need perfect conditions to create something meaningful.
Sometimes the unexpected becomes the most interesting part of the story.
