Corina & Dominik — A Wedding in Rovinj, Istria

October 1, 2026

Corina and Dominik’s wedding took place in Rovinj, surrounded by the stone architecture, warm summer light and unmistakable atmosphere of Istria.

The day started quietly with preparations before moving into the streets and architecture of Rovinj for the ceremony. From the anticipation before the wedding to the moments inside the church and the celebration outside, I wanted to photograph the day as it naturally unfolded — observing rather than constantly directing.

Istria also gave us a beautiful setting for portraits. Old stone houses, strong Mediterranean light and a classic Cadillac became part of the story without taking attention away from Corina and Dominik themselves.

This is the kind of wedding photography I’m most drawn to: a mixture of documentary moments and intentional portraits. Some photographs work best in colour, others become stronger in black and white, but the goal remains the same — to create a visual story that still feels honest years later.

Planning a wedding in Croatia?

Whether you’re getting married in Istria, Dalmatia or elsewhere along the Croatian coast, I’d love to hear about your plans. My approach combines natural documentary photography with carefully composed portraits, focusing on real moments, atmosphere and the people who make your wedding personal.

If that sounds like the way you’d like your day to be remembered, get in touch and tell me a little about your wedding.
