Jennifer & Austin — Vow Renewal in Dalmatia, Croatia
Jennifer and Austin chose a quiet corner of Dalmatia for an intimate vow renewal surrounded by the dramatic landscape of Biokovo mountain.
Hidden just a few kilometres from the Adriatic coast, the small village of Zadvarje gave us something completely different from the typical Croatian seaside setting — old stone houses, narrow streets, open landscapes and incredible views towards Biokovo.
Two years after exchanging their original vows in Washington D.C., they came to Croatia to celebrate their relationship once again. The day was simple and personal, which gave me the freedom to photograph them naturally and let the surroundings become part of their story.

Exploring small village Zadvarje.
A few days later we met again in Trogir for another photo session. The change of scenery couldn’t have been better — from the open landscape beneath Biokovo to the narrow stone streets and historic architecture of my hometown.
Trogir is one of those places where you don’t need to search for a backdrop. Light, texture and centuries of history are everywhere, so the city becomes part of the photographs without overwhelming the people in them.
